Tree Lifting and Collection Service during existing site clearance
We work closely with Landowners and Contractors to try and minimise tree waste. Each year, staggering quantities of vegetation are lifted and cleared up and down the country, from small gardens, right through to large scale development sites. If we are brought in early and given enough prior notice, there’s a good chance of collecting some trees with enough root to ensure that they live on and continue to thrive.
Environmental Benefits and a Story to tell…
There has never been a more important time to preserve our environment and look after our trees. If we are able to save some trees on your site, and if the client so wishes, we can make a plan with them to create a large Bonsai or Japanese Garden tree from one of the trees saved during site clearance stage, which could then be planted back in the new scheme. What a lovely story this would be, for a tree that was down to get the chop, being given a second chance to live on in the new landscape scheme.
If you are a landowner (big or small), a contractor, or a design professional who have projects about to start on site, please do get in touch. We do not charge for any removal so this service would be absolutely free. All that we kindly ask is that we have permission to carefully lift, remove from site and develop the tree material. Please also be advised that tree lifting and the ability to save trees is very much dependant on the following:
1. Time of year. Typically, it is during the dormant period when we can safely lift trees without causing stress (so generally between the months of October and March)
2. Size of trees (some may simply be too mature to dig out successfully by hand and save enough root to the tree to have a fighting chance. Larger material might be lifted where diggers on site are perhaps already clearing an area and can carefully lift out)
3. Location (lifting may be prohibited if the tree is in a difficult position or growing within a particular structure or proximity to a boundary as an example)
4. Planning Restrictions (i.e. Tree Preservation Orders)

This is a fun and interactive way to learn about bonsai. Whether it’s a school group, some friends, or colleagues from the office, Ben’s Beginners Bonsai Class is a great introduction to bonsai and you get to create your very own to take home! Ben will go through some bonsai basics and guide each group through their very own tree styling. He will give practical advice for basic bonsai health and maintenance, and share some top tips! We will come to you, whether it be a school, a place of work, or a garden area. Starter trees, bonsai tools and bonsai wire are all included in the price. Please get in touch to chat through details and tailor a plan for you based on group age, size, location and any other particular additional needs.
